Fontanacota
Fontanacota has been producing typical wines from Western Liguria for more than 20 years. They grow and vinify our own grapes, continuing a tradition that began in the family vineyards. The commitment is to offer quality wines while preserving their distinctive character, combining modern winemaking practices with respect for local appellations. In the vineyards, we adopt sustainable farming methods, seasonal green manure, reduced use of pesticides, and integrated pest management principles.
The character of the "Riviera Ligure di Ponente" wines is rooted in Fontanacota, a strip of land at the bottom of the Prino Valley, just a few kilometers from the sea. Here Vermentino, Pigato, and Rossese are grown. The ideal microclimate, calcareous soil, and grapes embody flavor and hints of Mediterranean scrub.
The winery is located in Ponti di Pornassio, in the Alta Valle Arroscia. The Ormeasco vineyards grow here, 600 meters above sea level, a ribbon of terraces and rows that slopes steeply down the valley. Heroic agriculture, steep terrain, yields vigorous wines.
